MOFATE EVENT & INNOVATION HUB
TERMS OF SERVICE & PRIVACY POLICY
The rules for using the MEIH platform, and how we handle your personal data.
Applicable to
Everyone who creates an account or uses the platform, including Attendees, Planners, Vendors, Sponsors, Speakers, Finance staff, Innovators, Reviewers, Judges, Public Voters, Partners and Administrators.
By registering, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and to the processing of your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy below.
01 ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and the Mobile Facilitation Team ("MOFATE", "we", "us") governing your use of the MOFATE Event & Innovation Hub ("MEIH", "the platform").
You must accept these Terms to complete registration. If you do not agree, you must not create an account or use the platform. A ticked agreement box at registration is a valid electronic acceptance.
02 THE SERVICE
MEIH provides infrastructure to discover and manage events, registrations, ticketing, agendas, sponsorship, vendor services, innovation competitions and networking. We provide the technology; event organisers remain responsible for the content, rules and official decisions of their events.
- Hosting institutions and organisers are responsible for the accuracy of event information they publish.
- We may add, change or retire features, and may suspend the platform for maintenance or security reasons.
03 YOUR ACCOUNT
You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during registration and to keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
- You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or have guardian consent, to create an account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
04 ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree not to misuse the platform. In particular, you must not:
- Break any applicable law or infringe the rights of others.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, data or systems.
- Introduce malware, scrape data excessively, or interfere with the platform's operation.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Use the platform for spam, fraud or deceptive activity.
05 CONTENT AND CONDUCT
You retain ownership of content you upload (text, images, submissions). By uploading, you grant MOFATE a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display and distribute that content solely to operate and promote the platform and the events in which you participate.
You are responsible for the content you post and confirm that you have the rights to share it. We may remove content that breaches these Terms or applicable law.
06 EVENTS, TICKETS AND PAYMENTS
Ticket prices, availability and refund rules are set by the event organiser. Unless an organiser states otherwise, payments for tickets are made to the organiser and are subject to their refund and cancellation policy.
- We may record payment status to manage your registration and check-in.
- Fraudulent or chargeback activity may lead to suspension of your account.
07 SPONSORS, EXHIBITORS AND VENDORS
Sponsors, exhibitors and vendors are responsible for the accuracy of the information they submit (including tier, booth and contact details) and for complying with the organiser's exhibition and service rules.
Captured contact leads are shared only with the exhibitor that captured them and are subject to the Privacy Policy below.
08 COMPETITIONS AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Innovation competitions are governed by the applicable competition-specific rules and the MOFATE Innovation Hub Policy, which supplement these Terms. Submission through MEIH does not, unless expressly stated, transfer intellectual property ownership to MOFATE.
You confirm that your submissions are original and do not infringe third-party rights.
09 BIOMETRIC AND IDENTITY VERIFICATION
Some features (for example, verifying a voter before a vote) use face-based biometric verification. This is optional and requires your explicit consent before enrolment.
- Biometric templates are used only to confirm your identity for the relevant action.
- You may revoke your enrolment at any time from your profile, after which the template is deleted.
- If you do not consent, you may be unable to use the specific features that require it.

You can manage much of this from your profile, or contact us using the details in section 14.
11 DATA RETENTION AND SECURITY
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, or as required by law, and then delete or anonymise it. We use technical and organisational measures (including encryption in transit and access controls) to protect it, though no system can be guaranteed completely secure.
12 DISCLAIMERS AND LIABILITY
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, MOFATE is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts and omissions of event organisers and other users. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13 CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified on the platform, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. The current version and effective date are shown at the top of this page.
14 GOVERNING LAW AND CONTACT
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be subject to the competent courts of Tanzania, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
